Losing a baby is a difficult and often misunderstood journey. It can leave mothers feeling isolated as they carry the grief for the child they never really got to know. Held is a support group for mothers who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant (up to 1 year of age).

Miscarriage and infant loss is often something our society struggles to talk about. Held support group will seek to give mothers an opportunity to break that silence, and talk to other mothers who “get it.” At Held, mothers will have the opportunity to share their stories and struggles or simply listen.

If you have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant, whether your loss was years (or even decades) ago, or just recently, you are welcome to attend Held. You may find yourself being comforted or sharing comfort with other mothers. Held is open to Rush Creek, as well as anyone in the community. It is our hope that Held will become an outreach ministry to hurting mothers.

“[He] comforts us in our troubles, so that we can comfort those in trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:4

Held support group will be the 3rd Monday of each month (beginning June 19th) at 7:00pm at Rush Creek. There is no need to sign-up to attend. Just come as you are.

Even if you are not a mother who has experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant, Held could use your support. Would you be willing to sign-up to bring light refreshments for the group, or maybe commit to pray for a specific meeting date? Or perhaps you could purchase a book for Held’s lending library?
