Why doesn’t God use miracles like He did in Bible times?

We first need to know why God performed miracles. It was not to “show off”, but to show people that he is God or that the people He sent were from Him.

We read the historical account found in the book of Matthew of John the Baptist who, while he was in prison, sent his followers to Jesus asking if He was the Messiah.

When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples to ask him, “Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?” Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

Matthew 11:2-5

Jesus was saying that He was the Messiah and the proof was the miracles. God also did miracles in the old Testament to show that He was indeed God.

So the question: Why doesn’t He use miracles today? Because we have the Word of God, the Bible to prove that God is real. We have history of the Old Testament and the gospels; we have prophecies that have been fulfilled. The Bible, if studied carefully, is enough to validate the truthfulness of what Christianity claims.
