What is Launch?
Launch is a missional Internship Program of Rush Creek Bible Church designed to embody our core value of being good stewards of our leadership role within the GGF, its partner organizations, and throughout the communities we serve.
Our desire is to embed within the DNA of RCBC our commitment to equip future leaders of the GGF and our local community and help launch them into paths of vocational and avocational ministry by providing hands-on learning experiences that that will enrich their lives and the lives of those around them.
Our commitment to leadership and community
Our Launch program has been in place for the last two years and is continually being refined. Launch represents Rush Creek’s commitment to develop young leaders in a defined and even rigorous way. Roughly 25% of Rush Creek’s overall budget is the result of our commitment to missional efforts (a significant portion overseas). Additionally, roughly 30% of payroll and payroll-related expenditures reflect a commitment to reaching our community. This is something we don’t celebrate often enough. God has gifted this congregation with a heart for our church and the world around us. He has also gifted us with the opportunity for equipping young leaders toward those ends. In total, Rush Creek Bible Church commits up to 1.5% of its annual budget for a variety of internships.
“Internship” is a term often synonymous with free or cheap staffing. Our commitment to the Launch program is born not out of what we will gain from the intern’s efforts, but rather out of a missional need to build, train and equip young leaders with intentionality. The students of the Launch program do, of course, serve in very tangible and real ways to assist with the needs of RCBC. Beyond the experience that students gain with hands-on experience, RCBC seeks to provide a mentoring relationship with each student along with training, reading material, and regular times of follow up to discuss what is being learned and its application.
