I am in a bad mood today. Can God help me?
You wake up in the morning knowing you have a math test in 3 hours. And you have to deal with the fact that there is a bad rumor going around about you, and your best friend believes it. You are in a bad mood.
The writer of Psalm 94 had his own set of problems and wrote a prayer about his troubles.
Rise up, O Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve. How long will the wicked, O Lord, how long will the wicked be jubilant? They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting. The Lord knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they are futile. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. But the Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.
Psalm 94:2-4;11;19;22
Notice what the palmist did? He brought his struggles to God in prayer. In doing this he came to the conclusion that God is a God that listens and cares. We can also make God our priority when we have a bad day. When we study praise Psalms and listen to praise songs, our bad mood can turn into a good mood.
